The address for service is typically found on the Charge (Mortgage) or Transfer (Deed) document in the Address for Service section. If you do not have the registered instrument number, you will need to purchase the Parcel Register* first to locate the number.
Once you have located the instrument number from the Parcel Register, the steps to search and purchase the instrument are as follows:
Change your search criteria from All to Instrument/Plan
- Select the appropriate LRO/Municipality
- Enter the Instrument number in the search field and select Search
- If the instrument is available it will appear below in a blue box with a button labeled View Details, select this button to purchase
- If you see a list of properties below, these results are to provide you with a list of properties that this particular instrument is associated with (i.e. an easement may affect several properties on a street)
*The Parcel Register is a title record containing the property description and a list of active registered instruments for the subject property within the Land Registration System of Ontario.
